English Translation
Sufyan narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ: 'Indeed, Bilal calls the adhan during the night (before Fajr), so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls the adhan.' And he (Ibn Umm Maktum) was a blind man who would not call the adhan until it was said to him: 'The morning has come, the morning has come!'
