English Translation

Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Amr, from Isma'il al-Shaybani (who said): I sold the fruit on the tops of my palm trees for one hundred wasqs — if it exceeds that, it is theirs, and if it is less, it is theirs (i.e., their loss). I asked Ibn 'Umar about it and he said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade that — meaning selling fruit that has not been properly assessed.
