English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Waki' and Ibn Numayr, from al-A'mash, from Abi Wa'il; and [via] Ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Sulayman — I heard Abi Wa'il narrate from 'Abdullah — that he said: 'We said: O Messenger of Allah, will we be held accountable for what we did in the age of ignorance? He said: Whoever does good in Islam will not be held accountable for what he did in the jahiliyya. And whoever does evil in Islam will be held accountable for [both] the first and the last.'
