لَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَدْرَكَ عُمَرَ وَهُوَ فِي رَكْبٍ وَهُوَ يَحْلِفُ بِأَبِيهِ فَقَالَ لَا تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ لِيَحْلِفْ حَالِفٌ بِاللَّهِ أَوْ لِيَسْكُتْ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yahya ibn Sa'id, from 'Ubayd Allah, from Nafi' — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came upon 'Umar while he was riding with a group and swearing by his father. He said: 'Do not swear by your fathers. Whoever takes an oath, let him swear by Allah — or keep silent.'
