Hadith #72

قَالَ وَذُكِرَ عِنْدَهُ أَنَّ الْقِرَدَةَ قَالَ مِسْعَرٌ أُرَاهُ قَالَ وَالْخَنَازِيرَ مِمَّا مُسِخَ قَالَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَمْ يَجْعَلْ لِمَسِيخٍ نَسْلًا وَلَا عَقِبًا وَقَدْ كَانَتْ الْقِرَدَةُ أُرَاهُ قَالَ وَالْخَنَازِيرُ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ نَحْوَهُ بِإِسْنَادِهِ وَلَمْ يَشُكَّ فِي الْخَنَازِيرِ
English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — [continuation] — it was mentioned in his presence that monkeys — Mis'ar said: I think he said: and pigs — were among those who were transformed [by divine punishment as a form of curse]. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Indeed Allah (عز وجل) has not given the transformed ones any offspring or descendants. Monkeys — I think he said: and pigs — existed before that [transformation as a separate species].' — [Second chain] via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from al-Thawri, from 'Alqama ibn Marthad — similar account with its chain; and he did not express doubt about [the mention of] pigs.
