Hadith #74
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنِ الْمَسْعُودِيِّ عَنْ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ ذَرٍّ عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ مَهَانَةَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ
يَا مَعْشَرَ النِّسَاءِ تَصَدَّقْنَ فَإِنَّكُنَّ أَكْثَرُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَقَالَتْ امْرَأَةٌ وَمَا لَنَا أَكْثَرُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ قَالَ لِأَنَّكُنَّ تُكْثِرْنَ اللَّعْنَ وَتَكْفُرْنَ الْعَشِيرَ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Waki', from al-Mas'udi, from al-Hakam, from Dhar, from Wa'il ibn Mahana al-Taymi — from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: 'O women, give in charity — for you are the majority of the people of Hell.' A woman said: 'Why are we the majority of the people of Hell?' He said: 'Because you curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands [kafarna al-'ashir].'
