حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ وَهْبٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَ
سْعُودٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً وَفِتَنًا وَأُمُورًا تُنْكِرُونَهَا قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُ لِمَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ مِنَّا قَالَ تُؤَدُّونَ الْحَقَّ الَّذِي عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَسْأَلُونَ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَكُمْ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Waki', from al-A'mash, from Zayd ibn Wahb; and [via] Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Sulayman — I heard Zayd ibn Wahb say: I heard 'Abdillah ibn Mas'ud, from the Prophet ﷺ: 'You will see after me [a time of] preferential treatment [athara] over you, and trials, and affairs you will find detestable.' We said: O Messenger of Allah, what do you command those of us who reach that [time]? He said: 'Fulfill the obligations upon you, and ask Allah [for that which is] your due.'
