English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from al-Hakam — I heard Dhar narrating from Wa'il ibn Mahana, from 'Abdillah ibn Mas'ud — from the Prophet ﷺ — that he said to the women: 'Give in charity — for you are the majority of the people of Hell.' A woman who was not from among the leading women said: 'Why? And for what? And how [so]?' He said: 'Because you curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands [kafarna al-'ashir].' — [Second chain] via Bahz, from Shu'ba, from al-Hakam, from Dhar, from Wa'il ibn Mahana from [the tribe of] Taym al-Ribab, from among the companions of 'Abdullah — from 'Abdullah — he said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to women: 'Give in charity — for you are the majority of the people of Hell.' A woman who was not from among the leading women said: 'Why? And how? And for what?' — and he mentioned the hadith.
