حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ النَّجْرَانِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ

وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِسَكْرَانَ فَضَرَبَهُ الْحَدَّ فَقَالَ مَا شَرَابُكَ قَالَ الزَّبِيبُ وَالتَّمْرُ قَالَ يَكْفِي كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا مِنْ صَاحِبِهِ

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Waki', from Sufyan, from Abu Ishaq, from al-Najrani — that the Prophet ﷺ was brought a drunk man and applied the prescribed punishment [hadd] on him. He asked: 'What were you drinking?' He said: 'Raisins and dates.' [the Prophet ﷺ] said: 'Each one of them alone is sufficient [to make the hadd applicable] without the other.'
