English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Mu'adh, from Ibn 'Awn, from Nafi' — that a man called out to the Prophet ﷺ: 'What clothing may the person in ihram wear?' He said: 'Do not wear the shirt, the turban, the burnous [hooded cloak], the trousers, or leather socks — except if sandals are unavailable; if sandals are unavailable, then cut socks below the ankles. And do not wear a garment that has been touched by wars [yellow dye].' Ibn 'Awn said: 'He either said: a dyed garment, or: touched by wars and saffron.' Ibn 'Awn said: 'In Nafi's written record it says: touched by [it].'
