حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّه

ْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا حَسَدَ إِلَّا عَلَى اثْنَتَيْنِ رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْقُرْآنَ فَهُوَ يَقُومُ بِهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالًا فَهُوَ يُنْفِقُ مِنْهُ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَآنَاءَ النَّهَارِ

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Salim — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There is no [legitimate] envy except in two cases: a man whom Allah has given the Quran, and he stands with it [in prayer] in the hours of the night and the hours of the day; and a man whom Allah has given wealth, and he spends from it in the hours of the night and the hours of the day.'
