Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي الْمُطَّلِبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ مَرَّةً مَرَّةً وَيُسْنِدُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَتَوَضَّأُ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا وَيُسْنِدُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
English Translation
It was narrated — via al-Walid (meaning Ibn Muslim), from al-Awza'i, from al-Muttalib ibn 'Abdullah ibn Hantab — that Ibn 'Abbas used to perform wudu once [for each limb] and attributed that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and that Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) used to perform wudu three times [for each limb] and attributed that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
