‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ ‏ ‏سَمِعْتُ ‏ ‏يَحْيَى بْنَ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ‏ ‏يُخْبِرُ أَنَّ ‏ ‏أَبَا سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ ‏ ‏عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ‏ ‏أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ ‏ ‏سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ ‏ ‏الشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ ‏

English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Hisham ibn Sa'd, from Mu'awiya ibn Sallam, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salama — that he heard him say: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "The month can be twenty-nine [days]."'
