English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yazid, from 'Abd al-Khaliq ibn Salama al-Shaybani, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib — that he said: 'I was at the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when the delegation of 'Abd al-Qays arrived with al-Ashajj. They asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about drinks [al-ashriba], and he forbade them from al-hantam [green clay jars], al-dubba' [gourds], and al-naqir [hollowed wood vessels].'
