English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Sulayman, from Dhakwan — that he said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When you are three, two must not converse privately to the exclusion of one."' [Dhakwan] said: I asked Ibn 'Umar: 'What if there are four?' He said: 'Then there is no harm in it.'
