Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Hayyan, meaning al-Bariqi, who said: It was said to Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما): 'Our imam prolongs the prayer.' Ibn 'Umar said: 'Two rak'ahs of the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were moderate [neither too long nor too short].' He said: 'He ﷺ used to recite in the last two rak'ahs of Dhuhr as in the first two of 'Asr.'
