Isma'il narrated to us, from Ibn 'Awn who said: I wrote to Nafi' asking him about the supplication before combat. He wrote back to me: 'That was only in the early days of Islam. the Prophet ﷺ of Allah ﷺ raided Banu al-Mustaliq while they were unaware, their livestock were being watered. He killed their fighters and captured their women and children. That was the day he captured Juwayriyah.' 'Abdullah [Ibn 'Umar] narrated this to me. He was in that army.
