Chain of Narration (Isnad)

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ حَمَلَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ فَأَعْطَاهَا عُمَرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيَحْمِل

َ عَلَيْهَا رَجُلًا فَأُخْبِرَ عُمَرُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ وَقَفَهَا يَبِيعُهَا قَالَ فَسَأَلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَبْتَاعُهَا قَالَ لَا تَبْتَعْهَا وَلَا تَعُدْ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ

English Translation

Yahya narrated to us, from 'Ubayd Allah, Nafi' informed me, from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) that 'Umar (رضي الله عنه) gave a horse in the cause of Allah, then he found it being sold. He wanted to buy it back. He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said: 'Do not buy back what you have given in charity.'
