English Translation

Yahya narrated to us, from 'Ubayd Allah, Nafi' informed me, from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ held a horse race between horses that had been prepared [by special feeding and training], from al-Hafya' to Thaniyyat al-Wada' — a distance of approximately five or six miles. And he raced horses that had not been specially prepared from Thaniyyat al-Wada' to the mosque of Banu Zurayq — approximately one mile.
