حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِعَائِشَةَ فَقَالَ
تْ يَرْحَمُ اللَّهُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَهَلْ هَجَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نِسَاءَهُ شَهْرًا فَنَزَلَ لِتِسْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الشَّهْرَ قَدْ يَكُونُ تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ

English Translation
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn 'Amr, Yahya ibn 'Abd al-Rahman informed me, from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'The month is twenty-nine.' They mentioned that to 'A'ishah, and she said: 'May Allah have mercy on Abu 'Abd al-Rahman [Ibn 'Umar]. He made a mistake. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The month may be twenty-nine.'
