English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yahya, from 'Ubayd Allah, from Nafi' — from the Prophet ﷺ — that he said: 'Let none of you sell over [i.e., undercut] another's sale, and let none of you propose marriage over [i.e., outbid] another's proposal — unless [the first party] gives him permission.'
