حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ سُحَيْمٍ عَنِ
ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَقْرُنَ الرَّجُلُ بَيْنَ التَّمْرَتَيْنِ حَتَّى يَسْتَأْذِنَ أَصْحَابَهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Waki' and 'Abd al-Rahman, from Sufyan, from Jabala ibn Suhaym — ['Abd al-Rahman said: I heard Ibn 'Umar say:] 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade a man from taking two dates at a time [al-qiran — pairing them together when eating from a shared dish] until he asks permission of his companions.'
