Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فِي حَلْقَةٍ قَالَ فَسَمِعَ رَجُلًا فِي حَلْقَةٍ أُخْرَى وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لَا وَأَبِي فَرَمَاه
ُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ بِالْحَصَى فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ يَمِينَ عُمَرَ فَنَهَاهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْهَا وَقَالَ إِنَّهَا شِرْكٌ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
It was narrated — via Waki', from al-A'mash, from Sa'd ibn 'Ubayda — that he said: 'I was with Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) in a gathering. He heard a man in another gathering saying: "No, by my father!" Ibn 'Umar threw pebbles at him and said: "That used to be 'Umar's oath, but the Prophet ﷺ forbade it and said: 'It is shirk.'"'
