English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Abd al-Rahman, from Sufyan, from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar — that he said: 'In the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we used to be very careful about much speech and showing ease [of manner] with our wives, fearing that Quran might be revealed concerning us. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ died, we spoke freely.'
