حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَلَ أَهْلَ خَيْبَرَ بِشَطْرِ مَا خَرَجَ مِنْ زَرْعٍ أَوْ تَمْرٍ فَكَانَ يُعْطِي أَزْوَاجَهُ كُلَّ عَامٍ مِائَةَ وَسْقٍ وَثَمَانِينَ وَسْقًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ وَعِشْرِينَ وَسْقًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ فَلَمَّا قَامَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ قَسَمَ خَيْبَرَ فَخَيَّرَ أَزْوَاجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُقْطِعَ لَهُنَّ مِنْ الْأَرْضِ أَوْ يَضْمَنَ لَهُنَّ الْوُسُوقَ كُلَّ عَامٍ فَاخْتَلَفُوا فَمِنْهُنَّ مَنْ اخْتَارَ أَنْ يُقْطِعَ لَهَا الْأَرْضَ وَمِنْهُنَّ مَنْ اخْتَارَ الْوُسُوقَ وَكَانَتْ حَفْصَةُ وَعَائِشَةُ مِمَّنْ اخْتَارَ الْوُسُوقَ
English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Ibn Numayr, from 'Ubayd Allah, from Nafi' — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ made an agreement with the people of Khaybar for half of whatever it yielded in crops or dates. He would give his wives every year one hundred and eighty wasqs of dates and twenty wasqs of barley. When 'Umar ibn al-Khattab [became caliph] and divided [the land of] Khaybar, he gave the wives of the Prophet ﷺ a choice: either he would allocate land for them, or he would guarantee them the wasqs each year. They differed — some chose that land be allocated for them, and others chose the wasqs. Hafsa and 'A'isha were among those who chose the wasqs.
