English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar — that he said: 'I was with Ibn 'Umar — myself and another man — when a third man came. Ibn 'Umar said: "Step back [to include him] — for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When there are three [together], two should not converse privately to the exclusion of one.'"'
