ْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ شَيْءٌ يُوصِي فِيهِ يَبِيتُ لَيْلَتَيْنِ إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتُهُ عِنْدَهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Umawi, from 'Ubayd Allah, from Nafi' — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'It is not right for a Muslim man who has something to bequeath to pass two nights except with his will written out and kept with him.'
