حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ أَعْرَابِ

يًّا نَادَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا تَرَى فِي هَذَا الضَّبِّ فَقَالَ لَا آكُلُهُ وَلَا أُحَرِّمُهُ

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar — that he said: 'I heard Ibn 'Umar say: "A Bedouin called out to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'What do you say about the dhabb [large desert lizard]?' He said: 'I will not eat it and I will not forbid it.'"'
