Arabic Text
قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
قَالَ مَثَلُ صَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ كَمَثَلِ صَاحِبِ الْإِبِلِ الْمُعَقَّلَةِ إِنْ عَاهَدَ عَلَيْهَا أَمْسَكَهَا وَإِنْ أَطْلَقَهَا ذَهَبَتْ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via reading to 'Abd al-Rahman: from Malik, from Nafi' — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The one who [regularly recites] the Quran is like the owner of hobbled camels — if he tends to them carefully, he keeps them; and if he lets them loose, they wander off [i.e., one forgets the Quran if one does not review it regularly].'
