قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْتَقْبَلَ فُرْضَتَيْ الْجَبَلِ الطَّوِيلِ الَّذِي قِبَلَ الْكَعْبَةِ فَجَعَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ الَّذِي بُنِيَ يَمِينًا وَالْمَسْجِدُ بِطَرَفِ الْأَكَمَةِ وَمُصَلَّى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَسْفَلُ مِنْهُ عَلَى الْأَكَمَةِ السَّوْدَاءِ يَدَعُ مِنْ الْأَكَمَةِ عَشْرَ أَذْرُعٍ أَوْ نَحْوَهَا ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْفُرْضَتَيْنِ مِنْ الْجَبَلِ الطَّوِيلِ الَّذِي بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَةِ
English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — [via Musa ibn 'Uqba, from] Salim — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ faced the two notches [furdhatayn] of the long mountain in front of the Ka'ba, placing the mosque that was built to his right. The mosque stands at the edge of the hill, and the prayer-place of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is lower than it — on the black hill — about ten cubits or so from the edge of the hill. He would pray facing the two notches of the long mountain that lies between him and the Ka'ba.
