حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ رَأَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى عُمَرَ ثَوْبًا أَبْيَضَ فَقَالَ أَجَدِيدٌ ثَوْبُكَ أَمْ غَسِي
لٌ فَقَالَ فَلَا أَدْرِي مَا رَدَّ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَسْ جَدِيدًا وَعِشْ حَمِيدًا وَمُتْ شَهِيدًا أَظُنُّهُ قَالَ وَيَرْزُقُكَ اللَّهُ قُرَّةَ عَيْنٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Salim — that the Prophet ﷺ saw 'Umar wearing a white garment and asked: 'Is your garment new or freshly washed?' [Salim] said: 'I do not know what ['Umar] replied.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Wear new [clothes], live with honor, and die as a martyr.' He [the narrator] said: 'I think he also said: "And may Allah grant you the joy [qurrat 'ayn] of this world and the Hereafter."'
