English Translation

Yunus narrated to us, Hammad — meaning Ibn Zayd — narrated to us, Ayyub narrated to us, from Nafi', from Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said while delivering a sermon: 'The hand is the upper one. Start with those you are responsible for: your mother, your father, your sister, your brother, then the next closest, then the next closest.'
