English Translation

Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd narrated to us, 'Ubaydullah narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) who said: 'I divorced my wife during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while she was menstruating. 'Umar mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Prophet ﷺ became angry and said: "Let him take her back, then keep her until she becomes pure, then menstruates, then becomes pure again. Then if he wishes, he may keep her, and if he wishes, he may divorce her before having intercourse with her. That is the 'iddah that Allah has commanded for the divorce of women."'
