English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Ya'mar ibn Bishr, from 'Abdullah [ibn Mubarak], from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from Salim ibn 'Abdullah, from his father — that the Prophet ﷺ, when he passed by al-Hijr [the land of Thamud], said: 'Do not enter the dwellings of those who wronged themselves — except weeping [out of fear] lest what befell them befall you.' And he covered his face with his upper garment while seated on his mount.
