English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Affan, from Sakhr ibn Juwayriya, from Nafi' — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When a man says to his companion: "O disbeliever!" — it [the charge] falls upon one of them. If the one to whom it was said is indeed a disbeliever, then he is a disbeliever. Otherwise, it rebounds upon the one who said it.'
