English Translation
It was narrated — via 'Affan, from Aban ibn Yazid, from Qatada, from 'Abdullah ibn Babi al-Makki — that he said: 'I prayed alongside 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما). When he finished the prayer, he struck his thigh and said: "Shall I not teach you the greeting of prayer [al-tashahhud] as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to teach us?"' Then he recited these words to him — meaning the words of Abu Musa al-Ash'ari in the tashahhud.
