حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمٌ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ زَيْدَ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ بِأَسْفَلِ بَلْدَحَ وَذَلِكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ
يَنْزِلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْوَحْيُ فَقَدَّمَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُفْرَةً فِيهَا لَحْمٌ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَأْكُلَ مِنْهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنِّي لَا آكُلُ مَا تَذْبَحُونَ عَلَى أَنْصَابِكُمْ وَلَا آكُلُ إِلَّا مِمَّا ذُكِرَ اسْمُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ حَدَّثَ هَذَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Affan, from Wuhayb, from Musa ibn 'Uqba, from Salim — that he heard 'Abdullah narrate from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he met Zayd ibn 'Amr ibn Nufayl at the bottom of Baldah — and that was before revelation descended upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered him a spread of food containing meat, but he refused to eat from it and said: 'I do not eat what you slaughter upon your idols, and I eat only from what Allah's name has been mentioned over.' 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar narrated this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
