English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Sakan ibn Nafi' al-Bahili, from Salih ibn Abi al-Akhdar, from al-Zuhri, from Salim ibn 'Abdullah, from his father — that he said: 'I was an unmarried young man who used to spend the night in the mosque in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Dogs used to come and go in the mosque, and they would not sprinkle [water to purify the floor] because of that.'
