حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَن

ْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ نَزَعَ يَدًا مِنْ طَاعَةٍ فَلَا حُجَّةَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَنْ مَاتَ مُفَارِقًا لِلْجَمَاعَةِ فَقَدْ مَاتَ مِيتَةً جَاهِلِيَّةً

English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Hashim, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Abdullah ibn Dinar, from Zayd ibn Aslam — from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'Whoever withdraws his hand from obedience [to the legitimate ruler] will have no proof for himself on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever dies having separated himself from the community [al-jama'a] has died a death of jahiliyya.'
