English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu al-Mughira, from al-Awza'i, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salama — that 'Umar ibn al-Khattab asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: 'Can one of us sleep while in a state of major ritual impurity [janaba]?' He said: 'Yes, and let him perform wudu [first].'
