Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو شِهَابٍ عَنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنِ الزُّهْرِي
ِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ هُنَيْدَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ بِقَوْمٍ عَذَابًا أَصَابَ الْعَذَابُ مَنْ كَانَ بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِهِمْ ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُهُمْ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَلَى أَعْمَالِهِمْ كَذَا فِي الْكِتَابِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Surayj ibn al-Nu'man, from Abu Shihab, from al-Hajjaj, from al-Zuhri, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Hunayda — that he said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When Allah inflicts punishment upon a people, the punishment strikes those who were among them. Then Allah (تعالى) will resurrect them according to their deeds."' [Ahmad notes: as it is in the written copy.]
