حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو صَخْرٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ
قُعُودًا إِذْ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ إِنَّ فُلَانًا يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّامِ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ أَحْدَثَ حَدَثًا فَإِنْ كَانَ كَذَلِكَ فَلَا تَقْرَأَنَّ عَلَيْهِ مِنِّي السَّلَامَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ فِي أُمَّتِي مَسْخٌ وَقَذْفٌ وَهُوَ فِي الزِّنْدِيقِيَّةِ وَالْقَدَرِيَّةِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Harun ibn Ma'ruf, from 'Abdullah ibn Wahb, from Abu Sakhr, from Nafi' — that he said: 'We were sitting with 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar when a man came and said: "So-and-so sends his greetings to you" — referring to a man from the people of Syria. 'Abdullah said: "I have heard that he has introduced an innovation. If that is so, do not convey my greetings to him. For I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'In my nation there will be metamorphosis [maskh] and being struck down [qadhf] — and this will be among the zindiqs and the Qadariyya.'"'
