قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَالِكٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ خَرَجَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ مُعْتَمِرًا فِي الْفِتْنَةِ فَ
قَالَ إِنْ صُدِدْتُ عَنْ الْبَيْتِ صَنَعْنَا كَمَا صَنَعْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ عَامَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Malik, from Nafi' — that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar went out to Mecca to perform 'umra during a period of civil strife [al-fitna]. He said: 'If I am prevented from reaching the House, we will do what we did with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [i.e., release from ihram at the point of being prevented].' So he entered ihram for 'umra, because the Prophet ﷺ had entered ihram for 'umra in the year of al-Hudaybiyya.
