حَدَّثَنَا يَعْمَرُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُبَارَكٍ قَالَ قَالَ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ قَ
الَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَسْتَنُّ فَأَعْطَى أَكْبَرَ الْقَوْمِ وَقَالَ إِنَّ جِبْرِيلَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَنِي أَنْ أُكَبِّرَ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Ya'mar ibn Bishr, from 'Abdullah ibn al-Mubarak — he said: 'Usama ibn Zayd told him, from Nafi' — that Ibn 'Umar said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ using the tooth-stick [miswak]. When done, he gave it to the eldest of those present and said: 'Jibril (عليه السلام) has commanded me to give precedence to the elder.'"'
