English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Malik, from Muhammad ibn 'Amr ibn Halhala al-Dayli, from Muhammad ibn 'Imran al-Ansari, from his father — that he said: ''Abdullah ibn 'Umar turned aside to me while I was halting under a tree [sarha] on the road to Mecca. He said: "What made you halt under this tree?" I said: "I wanted its shade." He said: "Is there any other reason?" I said: "No — nothing made me halt except that." 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said: "the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When you are between the two mountains [al-Akhshabayn] of Mina'" — and he gestured with his hand toward the east — "'there is a valley called al-Surar, in which there is a tree [sarha] under which the umbilical cords of seventy prophets were cut [i.e., they were born].'"'
