قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ قَالَ و حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَ

English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Malik, from Nafi' (and via Ishaq ibn 'Isa, from Malik, from Nafi') — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Allah, have mercy on those who shave [their heads].' They said: 'And those who shorten their hair, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'O Allah, forgive those who shave.' They said: 'And those who shorten, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'And those who shorten.'
