English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Hajjaj, from Shu'ba, from 'Abdullah ibn Dinar — that he heard Ibn 'Umar say: 'When we gave our oath of allegiance [bay'a] to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on hearing and obeying, he would teach us [to say]: "In what you are able."'
