حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ

عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَإِذَا خِفْتَ الصُّبْحَ فَوَاحِدَةً إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى وِتْرٌ يُحِبُّ الْوِتْرَ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from 'Atiyyah ibn Sa'd, from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) who said: 'I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: "The night prayer is two by two. When you fear that dawn is approaching, pray one rak'ah as witr for what you have prayed."'
