ذِئْبٍ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُنَا بِالتَّخْفِيفِ وَإِنْ كَانَ لَيَؤُمُّنَا بِالصَّافَّاتِ

English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما) — via Hammad ibn Khalid al-Khayyat, from Ibn Abi Dhi'b, from al-Harith ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from Salim, from his father — that he said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command us to keep the prayer light — yet he would lead us [reciting] al-Saffat.'
