حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَحْوَلِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي عِيَاضٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ لَمَّا نَهَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْأَوْعِيَةِ قَالُوا لَيْسَ كُلُّ النَّاسِ يَجِدُ سِقَاءً فَأَرْخَصَ فِي الْجَرِّ غَيْرِ الْمُزَفَّتِ
English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-'As (رضي الله عنهما) — via Sufyan, from Sulayman al-Ahwal, from Mujahid, from Abu 'Iyad — that when the Prophet ﷺ forbade [certain types of] vessels, the people said: 'Not everyone has a [leather] waterskin [siqa'].' So he gave dispensation for clay jars [al-jarr] — other than those lined with pitch [al-muzzaffat].
